At the same time, equestrian sports have become a defining pillar of her family’s journey, instilling resilience, courage, and unity in her children.

The Magic of Storytelling: ‘Dream Heroes’ and the Power of Listening to One’s Heart

For Sofia, storytelling is more than just words on a page—it is a reflection of the values she hopes to instill in her children. Her Dream Heroes book series is deeply personal, with her own children serving as the main characters.

“I strive to teach them how to build a strong relationship with each other – this is the main idea behind these books,” she explains. “The characters experience different situations, overcoming fears and doubts that many children face in life. The key message running through all the pages is: listen to your heart.”

As the characters evolve, so do her children, making each new book in the series a deeper exploration of emotions and experiences. And now, with the arrival of her youngest child, Severin, Sofia is certain that another story awaits to be told.

Children as a Creative Muse: From Literature to Music

The boundless energy and spirit of childhood are not only the foundation of Sofia’s books but also find their way into her music. She has even written a song titled Sun Girl, in which the protagonists of her stories—Serafima, the warrior girl; Stefania, the dream girl; and Sevastian, the dragon boy—come to life through melody.

“At first, I didn’t plan to write a sequel, but now that we have Severin, there will certainly be at least one more book for readers to meet a new character.”

Through both literature and music, Sofia is crafting a universe where childhood dreams, bravery, and imagination thrive.

Equestrian Sports: A Family’s Journey of Strength and Unity

Beyond the pages of her books, Sofia and her children share another profound passion—horse riding. What started as a way to unify their interests soon became an integral part of their family dynamic.

“In early childhood, my daughters were engaged in rhythmic gymnastics, while my son practiced judo. It wasn’t easy to plan different trainings and schedules, especially when taking it to the professional level. So, we started looking for an alternative that would allow the children to share common interests. That’s how equestrian sports entered our lives.”

Horses have not only brought the family together but have also shaped the children’s character. Training six days a week, they have learned the virtues of perseverance, discipline, and teamwork. Sofia speaks with pride about the moments when they stand together on the winners’ podium.

“They have shared the podium multiple times – and these moments evoke truly unique feelings. You won’t experience such emotions anywhere else.”

Lessons from the Saddle: The Bond Between Horse and Rider

Riding is more than just a sport for Sofia’s children—it is a journey of self-discovery, trust, and growth. Unlike other athletic disciplines, equestrian sports demand a partnership between horse and rider, where mutual understanding is essential.

“Every day they learn to understand each other, to feel even subtle changes in each other’s mood and well-being, and most importantly – to trust each other and become one,” Sofia explains.

Through the rhythm of hooves against the ground and the quiet bond between human and horse, her children have grown into strong, empathetic individuals.

“We have our own horses, and the children train professionally six days a week. They support each other, overcome difficulties together, and win competitions. The moments when they share the podium are truly special for us.”
